Tasks performed by Worker Bees

Main Tasks performed by Worker Bees at different stages of life:

  • Collecting nectar, pollen and water.

  • Collecting tree resins and other substances and produce propolis.

  • Packing pollen into comb cells.

  • Producing wax and build comb.

  • Controlling hive temperature and humidity.

  • Attending the queen, feed and groom her.

  • Producing royal jelly and brood food and nurse the brood.

  • Cleaning the hive, undertaker.

  • Producing honey by serial processing by up to 100 bees.

  • Storing honey in comb and ripen it.

  • Protecting the colony against intruders.
