To get started as a hobby beekeeper will cost you a minimum of $850 and a few days of your time to build, source, assemble and set up.
Whether you buy or build and assemble your boxes and frames makes hardly any difference to what it will cost you, it makes however a difference to the time you need to invest.
The fundamental setup items are:
General Items to handle bees ($160 - $320)
Purchase one 2-tier hive or the flat-packs to build one ($190 - $290)
Tools and Equipment to harvest and package Honey ($515 +)
