How to obtain my first bees?
This is probably the most common question once you have decided to take up beekeeping.
Some options:
- The bees find you; you might acquire your first bee colony by picking up a swarm. This is the most rewarding experience.
- From a member of your local Beekeeper Club.
- From a retiring beekeeper who wants to sell his/her hives.
- From other beekeepers, selling bee colonies or complete hives with bees.
