Langstroth Hive Sizes
- Varying in width; 8 frames (355mm) or 10 frames (407mm)
- In Victoria 8-frame hives are commonly used; 10-frame hives are common in other parts of Australia.
Advice: Decide between 8 or 10 frame hives before you start building up your apiary; components are not interchangeable.
An 8-frame honey super is lighter, therefore easier to carry.
